Hi I read about this guy, and remember a year or so ago hearing that he may be in Episode 3? Is this not the case anymore? Also, apart from General Grevious, what new characters are in Episode 3?

Oh, I forgot, in the novel adaptation, Mace Windu (I think) mentions that Darth Bane was killed over a millennia ago.

He died a thousand years before the Clone Wars according to a non-EU, canon source: namely the AOTC novelization.

The following new characters all play minor (some barely significant) roles in the movie:
Baby Luke and Leia.
Chewbacca.
Tarfful (sp?) - a wookie.
Tion Meddon (sp?) - a Utapauan.
Tarkin
Boga (a flying lizard-like creature)
Plus we get to see more of some of the Jedi we barely met in the other movies: Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, Ayala Secura, and others.
Oh, and: Darth Vader and the Emperor (from a certain point of view).
