1-1/2 year old Esteve Classical guitar, 630 mm scale (approx. 24.9 ) with cutaway. East Indian Rosewood back & sides, Cedar top (all solid woods). No-name tuners function well. Custom-fit hard-foam case with integrated Cordura cover, zippered pouch and built-in hygrometer.
It was purchased directly from Ron Fernandez, and this was an experiment to determine if a short-scale nylon string guitar could handle DADGAD tuning. It worked quite well, and I have a new, more expensive instrument nearly ready for shipping.
This is an upper-level student-quality instrument tonally, and as noted is solid wood for the top, back & sides. I think that it is a super-sounding guitar, but I ll let you decide for yourself. I have a sound clip of an original tune, in DADGAD tuning at : http://www.LarryPattis.com/SpanishDream2.mp3
The guitar was designed, of course, for standard tuning, so it will likely sound a bit crisper than this recording at standard pitch on all 6 strings.
The guitar is in mint condition, no scratches or dings, and everything is also perfect structurally, with proper neck angle, and plenty of saddle height showing. The discounted price Ron had for me on this guitar when I purchased it was $1495, retail would have been in the $1795 range. I am asking only $995 plus shipping. I will consider ground shipping within the West or Pacific Northwest, but for greater distances will insist on FedEx 3-Day Air (Express Saver). I have an account with FedEx that does receive a discount, and I will only pass along the actual cost of shipping.
