At this time the Munch satisfies me. I'd like to again hear the Toscanini, the one I inprinted on, just for the performance, sound quality aside. Was that recorded in 8-H?

On my CD there is Jeanne d'Arc Massa's Dupr !...

I actually like the Munch/NYPO S-Sns#3 better than his BSO one. it's>from 1948, IIRC. it was his first US recording, I believe.>I'd like to hear the Toscanini - I ordered it, but it was already OOP.
The tech who cut the 1S lp of the Toscanini panicked that the fortes would cause the commercial tonearms to jump of the record. So he cut ALL the bass. It was quickly replaced by the 2s which somewhat rectified this. The German lp sounded like the 1S. The gold seal was the first release that resemled the master tape in any way.

Just to be fussy (in a friendly way, I hope), I'll point out that that > excellent performance is a remake. The mono recording has been issued on > CD not by Sony, but by a Captain. Or capitain, actually.>
I haven't heard the mono Ormandy/Phil/Biggs yet, but I'll cast my ballot for the stereo version. Anyway, where might one find the mono version?
