There has been some comment here, both pro and con, about Colonia del Sacramento, in Uruguay.
Yes, it's "just a bunch of old buildings," but it is perhaps the best-preserved collection of old buildings from a particular time: the period when the Portuguese and Spanish created colonies in the New World. I'm not sure, but I think that it is now classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
One advantage that we have in the Internet is that we can go to a site such as Google, click on "Images," then type in Colonia and Uruguay as key words and get images of the place. That may help us in deciding whether those particular "old buildings" are something that we would like to see live and close up.
