I think she is turning into Lou Beale bit by bit>
IIRC Lou's Vulcan Mind Meld took effect within a week of her death (either the day after the death itself or on the day of the funeral), and was signified by Pauline uttering a Lou catchphrase at episode end <DUH-DUH-DUH>.
I guess the process is now moving onto the rest of her.

That remains for me one of the spookiest and most intriguing EE episodes ever: Lou, knowing her time in This Square was running out, held a family conference, then when she had finished grilling each person present, she just said "Right! I can go now!" and promptly died in her sleep that night.

Someone I know IRL who was terminally ill but had a few weeks/months left was acting strange one evening and kept saying "I have packed my bags and am ready to go". We all thought she was loosing the plot, and planning to discharge herself. The next moring she passed away.

Dave Allen will be having an interesting time at the pearly gates around about now. He was a great comedian. I saw him on stage once and in 3 hours he didn't tell a single joke but had everybody laughing throughout. A great man.

Back in the 1970s my grandmother became dangerously ill and felt she was about to meet her maker, and we had several tearful bedside exchanges. She pulled through, lived for another 20+ years and passed away at the age of 101 in 2002. So it doesn't always happen that way

Sad news indeed. Not sure about the "great man" bit, but he knew how to make people laugh. What I'd like to know is why the BBC aren't repeating shows like his (after all, he did loads with the Beeb over the years) instead of endless reruns of tired old rubbish like "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em".

According to the Beeb news website it was his decision not to have them repeated, maybe now they will have the opportunity.

...after a respectful waiting period, I trust.
They ought to start showing some Spike Milligan by now, too. He's been dead for three years and there must be tons of his stuff in the archives. What a waste to just leave it there unseen. We paid for a lot of it, after all.

They won't. Still far too controversial, for some reason.
True of some stuff, perhaps, such as "Curry and Chips" (which I never much liked anyway) but I would have thought some repeat showings of the Q serieseseses (which I enjoyed for their surrealness) would get past the political-correctness fascists.
