US Average income falls for the 3rd straight year

P C K 31 August 2005 18:30:22

And once again the media would rather show us idiot reporters standing
in a storm than report on news that actually affects most Americans.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/30/AR2005083001727.html

The median household income stood at $44,389 last year, down slightly
from the 2003 level of $44,482. So now it's 3 years in a row; the Bush
"recovery" has broken it's previous record of two straight years of
declining income for the average American.

A full-time male worker earned a median income of $40,798 last year,
down $963 in inflation-adjusted dollars from 2003. Women's median
earnings fell $327, to $31,223.

The article goes on to state that there are 1.1 million more Americans
in poverty this year than last year, and that is using a pretty strict
definition of poverty.

The income of the top 1% has gone up quite a bit also. Your point?

Well, after todays gas price surge, there'll be a lot more Americans living
in poverty.

More importantly, how are we going to blame this all on Clinton?

Check your Republican Party talking points brochure:

"Bush *inherited* hurricane Katrina from Clinton"

Just like he inherited the Iraq War, the Halliburton scandal, and
everything else he does wrong.

Agreed: messin' around with fat chicks always causes these kinds of
problems.

Hell, the way I heard it, Clinton had Karl Rove created in a lab. Then
the monster turned on him.

Poor "trotsky"; still as clueless as ever.

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.

your "intake" may have increased 30% but measured against the true inflation (i'm including all of the measures the gov-mint conveniently leaves out...) what is your real increase?

interesting--the author titles the article with "average" then quotes "median." perhaps i'm the one who's confused?!
